As part of our Community Outreach efforts, we went to Bhumi Mata Secondary School, Tipchowk, to distribute the Envirofit Stove. These stoves have proven to be of great use to the people, it reduces maximum carbon emissions, fuel needs and indoor pollution, which is great. It also saves two-third of fuel consumption. This programme was organized by Malpi International School. The stove was sponsored by Himalayan Stove Project under Mr. Jay Raj Bhandari. The stoves were distributed to 30 families residing KopcheKhola and Panchedanda, Bethanchowk 4, Kavre.
There were a few guidelines given to the villagers by Mr. Arjun Chhetri , Education Co-ordinator, who explained its method of use and highlighted this program as a part of Social Welfare of the community. A few words were spoken by Mr. Jyoti Man Sherchan, the Executive Director cum Principal. He expressed his feelings about being happy to be able to help the people and to distribute the stoves to the targeted group and believes this will control deforestation and health issues raised due to smoke.
